Sport Cardiff True 2 Me Partnership

March 29, 2018

Llanishen High School have been the first secondary school in Cardif to receive the Girls Together True2Me course. The course provides a number of wellbeing workshops utilising resources from the Dove skincare True2Me self esteem campaign to tackle the appearance ideal and increase the confidence of young girls. Girls Together work with groups of  up to 15 girls between the age of 13-15 years to identify the barriers which affect their participation in sports and physical activity and provide opportunities to increase their levels of physical activities.

Our partnership with Sport Cardiff has enabled the groups to access physical activity sessions in an environment away from school, which has increased the girls confidence as they do not feel judged by their peers. The pilot has been a success and will be offered to other Cardiff secondary schools after the Easter break.

Gemau Cymru Success

July 18, 2017

Incredible day at the Gemau Cymru games.  6 members represented the club in the weightlifting competition.

It takes courage to walk out onto the lifting platform on your own and these girls and boys were outstanding in their attitude, effort and comradely.

Special mention to Lucy who was awarded the Best Technical Lifter in her group, narrowly missing first place for total weight lifted and to Calum for placing 3rd in his group for total weight lifted.

We are an affiliated club with fully qualified coaches and our Head Coach is a British Weightlifting Licensed Coach. Our weightlifting club runs every Thursday 7:00-8:00p.m.

REPs assured

May 29, 2015

Instructors that care about their clients are REPs registered.

REPs is an independent, public register which recognises the qualifications and expertise of health-enhancing exercise instructors in the UK. REPs provides a system of regulation for instructors and trainers to ensure that they meet the health and fitness industry’s agreed National Occupational Standards.

REPs provides assurance and confidence to the public and employers that all professionals on the Register are appropriately qualified and have the knowledge, competence and skills to perform their role effectively.

REPs was developed to protect the public from ‘cowboy trainers’ who do not hold appropriate qualifications. As well as protecting the public, REPs was also established to recognise the qualifications and skills of exercise professionals.

All Sakura coaches are registered to REPs; we care about our clients.
